Photo Friday – Violet

Posted in: Digital, Photography|12 August, 20055 Comments

I’ve been ages looking back through my photos for something that looked a bit violent… I couldn’t understand though, why everyone else was posting photos of pretty things like pansies and flowers etc.

I am considering a second opinion from the optician who said I had perfect eye-sight!

I feel like chicken tonight, I really do!

Posted in: Life|13 July, 2005No Comments

I am actually still feeling really quite sick after yesterdays diet of burnt/raw sausages, beer and marshmallows (nothing else)! That’s barbeque’s for you. Tonight though, I have really pushed the boat out and am serving up a Chicken Tonight gastronomic masterpiece which any fine restaurant would be more than happy to serve up (just ask Jacques Chirac). If they would only make the jars a little easier to open it really would be effortless!

Just some of the best rubbish food ever…

  • Marmite
  • Kit-Kats
  • Hob Nobs
  • Paxo stuffing
  • Peanut butter (crunchy)
  • Cream Crackers
  • Pea Fritters/mushy peas
  • Pasties

If you can find a way of combining all of them into one meal, you should probably book the hospital bed in advance (and invite me over for dinner)!

When the best just isn’t good enough…

Posted in: Life|28 July, 2004No Comments

Somedays you don’t want the best, or even second best, somedays only trashy will do, somedays you just want…

PAXO
This is stuffing to the uninitiated, not the proper stuff, rich like pate, made with the best cuts of meat and intoxicating hebs. No, Paxo is basically dehydrated bread, dried onions and some powdered sage, which is reconstituted with water from the kettle and, if you’re being uber-kitch, rolled into little balls before baking in the oven.

ANGEL DELIGHT
It has to be butterscotch flavour – whisk it up with some milk and you have a chemically perfect, ultra-sweet treat fit for a princess (aka me).

KIA_ORA
Forget freshly squeezed pure orange juice, or even the pasturised stuff, a good stong mix of Kia-Ora orange cordial with household tap water, and perhaps a straw to top it off completely will keep you going on a sugar buzz for hours!

…today was one of those days!
