Nothing much to say, only that after days and days and days of rain, the sun and heat have finally arrived and it feels amazing – I feel drunk on sunshine!

Back

I’m back! Well, I haven’t actually been anywhere but I am back.

Talking of backs… poor admin is sofabound with some sort of awful, agonising backpain. The doctor has prescribed some VERY strong painkillers so things are getting better – I might even let him have some soon. Ha!

Oh, I’m so happy that I never surcame to the sexual-stereotyping that was rife in the girls’ comics of my youth to become a nurse (I’m looking at you, Twinkle). I could list a million reasons why I would have been rubbish at this job but it mostly involves unmentionable bodily-functions and… gruesomeness. Thank goodness for all the women and men who can deal with this sort of thing – they are AWESOME.

Whilst I’m still not absolutely 100% sure what I do want to do when I grow up, I do know that ‘nurse’ wont be on that list, so that kind of helps :/

Here’s a photo – much safer water for me and photographer is certainly much higher up on that aforementioned list. This was taken in the garden with my NEW Diana F+ with an Instant Back (hey, another ‘back’ reference) – it’s not exactly a prize-winning photo but I now know this bolted-together contraption works and I can start shooting in anger…

Littlehampton

I’ve never been to a windier place in my life! I’m sure it’s not like that all the time in this little West Sussex seaside town, at least I hope it’s not. My goodness, it was like being thrown into a pretty, beach-hut strewn wind-tunnel! It was worth it though, I love being by the seaside (although I felt about 100 when I had to seek sanctuary from the wind in one of those graffitti’d shelters).

I did manage to take a few photos though – I was scared the Polaroids would either fly away or flap and bend in the wind and get all sticky icky (they do that) so as well as digital ones my little fuji instax mini managed to hold up in the extreme conditions…

Home time

I’m off work this week, for a mixture of road trips, adventures, gentle days at home, oh, and two lots of birthday cake (Mark on the 8th, me on the 10th). Today was one of the mainly at home days, but it didn’t stop me getting out my Polaroid. I think I’m finally getting the hang of the lighter/darker wheel on my SX-70 and managed this reasoably steady shot in a quite low-light.

Don’t you just love natural, seasonal blooms like these Sweet Williams? What are your your favourite flowers?

Daisy

I love a daisy! To be honest there’s not much I don’t love when it’s JUNE and the sun is shining. Wasps maybe, bit of a nuisance. And being confined in small spaces with sweaty commuters is no fun. But mainly I am all about the loving, positivity that a bit of warmth and sunshine can bring.

More good news – tomorrow, Steph Parke, one of my most favourite ever Polaroiders and film photographers will be here answering 5fives… woohoo!

Seven years

It’s not just my website that’s looking different, I am feeling different. Good different.

Transfering the content of seven plus years of blog made me look at my life, literally, from the outside. It made me think about how I live my life and how I present myself to the outside world . How I smother and hide away my weaknesses and flaws when I should be sharing them and relishing in the supporting nature of online communities.

I’m not sure how I’m going to change yet, I haven’t finished thinking things through, but I know that the next 7 days, 7 weeks, 7 months, 7 years will see me learning, moving forwards and growing. Growing and sharing.

This is me, then. Take 2.

Both photos taken with my fuji instax 200 (which I’m falling more and more in love with each time I use it).
