Quickie

Posted in: Film, Photography|27 March, 20132 Comments

Crazily (even though it’s almost April), since I took these photos the UK has been smothered, kicking and screaming beneath blankets of snow. I am totally getting why people up sticks and move to Spain – I’d bloody love to be there now!

OK. Look at the pretty pile of logs and calm down, please. Deep breaths…

The Cotswolds

If you’ve ever done a jigsaw puzzle of a quaint little English village, or spotted one on your granny’s box of chocolates then there’s a very good chance it was of somewhere in The Cotswold’s. That’s where I’ve been for the last few days!

It’s a very, very pretty part of the world – almost cloyingly so in some of the more touristy spots – this all helped make it a very relaxing break though; not least because wherever you travel there you’re never more that 100 metres away from tea and scones.

I love all the honey coloured stone – it only rained for the first day, somehow we managed to dodge any further downpours.  When the sun shines the buildings really do glow – see how different these look compared to the first couple in this post which were taken in the rain.

I took one or two digital photos whilst I was away but I mainly stuck to my Pentax film camera. It seemed to fit in nicely with the step back in time.

Remember that film I had hanging around for ages? Well I received the prints today – hoorah!

When I was a kid I can recall that we’d have films developed with two separate Christmases on (and a summer holiday in the middle). I’m not that bad – this only took about 4 months to finish.

There was that trip to Liverpool…

Then a quick hop over the border into Wales…

And then of course there’s London – these are my favourite…

But most of them were taken last Friday – down to the local ‘beach’… it’s not really a beachy-beach but there’s always something magical about being next to the water when the sun is shining…

So yes, on this freezing cold, almost snowy day I got to relive some wonderful memories – I’d almost forgotten about some of them. I really must try to speed up this lazy workflow in the future though!
