This was the first weekend in flippin’ ages where I had no commitments, no errands, no chores… well, OK, there were chores but I have a little trick I’ve perfected when it comes to those – I completely ignore them!

All this freedom was very fortunate – it meant as soon as the sun felt bothered enough to peep out like a coy geisha, I was able to jump in the car and find some nearby countryside to bask in its glory!

This is going to sound very hippy-ish (and no, I don’t normally hold with such hokem), but I do think it does the human body good to be submerged into masses and masses of green-ness. As soon as you exit the city it’s so apparent that everything, everywhere is so verdently lush and green and relaxing and breathing seems so much easier. Green, green, green. And red, of course.

Oh, I love poppies!

What a beautiful picture of a poppy field. I’ve never seen one before until I saw it on this post of yours. Thanks for sharing!
I definitely love the field of poppies. ;)
How fantastic : )
The ignoring of the chores, the loveliness of the green, and not least of all, the poppies. I have never seen a poppy in real life. Can you believe that? I think I need to find one immediately.
I love poppies too. And your pictures of poppies. And your pictures of church spires in the sun. The sun is shining here today, for the first time in FOREVER. It makes me want to shed these silly office shoes, abandon my annoyingly tight tights, and run bare-foot through the nearest field. And then lie in the grass and watch the insects buzz and crawl around me. Mmm… Oh well.
If I could lie down on that poppies field I’d stare at the sky all afternoon… sight!
