Eve Arnold

As a woman and an artist, Eve Arnold was an inspiration. There’s a nice collection of her work available on the Guardian website, including images of Marilyn Monroe which are her most well-known.

The collection misses out my favourite photo of hers though – it’s this one of the queen, caught off guard. I love the naturalness of the pose, the genuinely happy-looking smile and the use of negative space…

    I lover her work so much and this photo of the Queen is a fantastic example of why her work is so great! Love it!

    She is such an inspiration. I will go and take some more photos tomorrow!!
